ACKNOWLEDGING THE ROLE OF CMSP IN PUBLISHED WORK

We kindly ask that users of the CMSP consider acknowledging and/or including staff members as co-authors on published work in which the CMSP has played a significant role.  The Association of Biomolecular Resource Facilities (ABRF) has published recommended guidelines for authorship on manuscripts involving core research facilities, which can help guide users of the CMSP in these decisions.  The ultimate decision on inclusion or acknowledgement is decided by the publication’s senior author and/or PI utilizing CMSP services.  Publication of work supported by the CMSP is essential to demonstrating the value of the facility across diverse projects, as well as professional development of staff members.  As such, we ask all CMSP users to carefully consider the role that the CMSP has played in work submitted for publication.

CITING CMSP IN MANUSCRIPTS

For researchers who have utilized the CMSP to generate data and/or interpret results that are a part of the publication, we kindly request you include a statement acknowledging this support:

“We thank the Center for Metabolomics and Proteomics at the University of Minnesota for providing services related to _________________.” [examples could include “generation of quantitative proteomics data”, or “developing and applying quantitative assays for metabolite characterization”]

For researchers publishing work that used the ThermoFisher Orbitrap Eclipse MS system, please include this statement in the Funding/Acknowledgements section:

"The Orbitrap Eclipse instrumentation platform used in this work was purchased through High-end Instrumentation Grant S10OD028717 from the NIH."
