The Waters Andrew+ robotic pipettor, which is housed in 5-194 MCB, adds a state-of-the art method for processing large batches of samples, preparing serial dilutions, setting up standard curve dilutions and more. The system can be customized per protocol and requires little human supervision after initial set-up. Some of the accessories include a microplate heater/shaker and a vacuum-based extraction manifold for solid phase extraction procotols. The system is compatible with 1.5 mL Eppendorf tubes, shallow and deep 96-well plates and autosampler vials.

Recognition goes to the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biophysics and Dr. Nichole Klatt in the Department of Surgery for instrument funding.
